Movement and head-to-head
Movement shows who climbed and who fell between two points in time. Head-to-head puts up to five products side by side, keyword by keyword.
Most questions in JustRanks are comparative. These two tools answer the two most common ones: who moved, and how do we compare?
Movement
Switch the results to Movement. It compares two points in time and lists who changed:
- First vs last capture compares the start of the period with its end.
- vs previous period compares the period with the one of the same length before it.
At the top, a summary of the field: how many products moved up, moved down, are new on page 1, or dropped off it. Below, the products themselves, one row per product family.
Without a product of yours, the lists are Climbed the most and Fell the most. With your product marked, the movement is read from your point of view: Passed you lists who moved above you, You passed whom you overtook, Net effect sums it up, and Where it happened shows your position change on each keyword.
The movement view needs two captures in the range. With only one, it tells you so; history grows with every capture.
Head-to-head
Choose Start Head-to-Head, then pick up to five listings, at least two. Variants count as one product, so you pick one listing per family. The comparison shows their numbers side by side over time and keyword by keyword, starting with position and the JustRanks Score.
This is the diagnostic view. "They are ahead of us overall" becomes "they are ahead on these six terms and behind on those four", which is something you can act on.
Which to use
Start wide and narrow down. The markets overview says something changed, the movement view says who moved, and the head-to-head says on which searches.
