When your markets are captured
You choose the hour of day your markets are captured. The time is read in each marketplace's local time, not in yours.
By default JustRanks captures your markets early in the morning, local time. You can change that under Settings → Data capture.
The one rule worth understanding
The hour you pick is the local time of each marketplace — not a moment in time.
Pick 8:00 AM and your Amazon.com markets are captured at 8:00 AM in New York, while your Amazon.de markets are captured at 8:00 AM in Berlin. Those are different moments, deliberately.
Your own time zone plays no part in the calculation. It is only used to show you, next to each marketplace, what the setting means where you are sitting:
Amazon.com — 8:00 AM New York time · 2:00 PM your time
Why not simply your own time
Because rankings move during the day. Search results in the morning are not the results at midday, and a page captured at 8:00 AM one day and 3:00 PM the next produces a difference that came from the clock, not from the market.
Every trend, delta and signal in JustRanks compares one day with the day before. That comparison only holds if the measurement is taken at the same point in the marketplace's own day. So a seller in Germany tracking Amazon.com measures US rankings on US time — that is what makes the comparison meaningful.
Which hour to choose
Early morning, local time, is the recommendation and the default. The market is quietest then: fewer promotions starting and ending, fewer intraday swings, so day-to-day differences are more likely to be real movement.
Measuring in the middle of the day is allowed and works, but expect more volatile numbers. If you switch to a busy hour, be aware that some of the extra movement you see afterwards comes from the timing, not from your competitors.
Scope
One setting for the whole account — all your markets share it. You cannot set a different hour per market.
Any member of your organisation can change it, not just the owner.
Choosing Default means you follow our recommended hour, including if we change it later. Choosing a specific hour means you keep that hour regardless.

What happens when you change it
The change takes effect immediately: there is no save button, and the next capture of every market is rescheduled at once rather than from tomorrow.
Changing the hour never creates a capture in the past, and it cannot cause a market to be captured twice on the same day — a day that has already been captured successfully is skipped.
What arrives when
Rankings and positions land within a few minutes of the capture. The derived numbers — JustRanks Score, coverage, competitor tiers — are computed in a run that starts once the capture is complete, so they usually follow within half an hour.
On a day when something goes wrong — a marketplace responding slowly, keywords that need retrying — that run waits for the missing pieces and can take considerably longer. Whatever is still missing is picked up the following day.
Signals follow the same rhythm: they compare the new day against the previous one, so they arrive after that run rather than at the moment of capture. See What signals are.
