Choosing a marketplace

Twelve Amazon marketplaces across North America, Europe and Asia-Pacific. Each one is a separate market with its own keywords, competitors and currency.

The marketplace is chosen when you create a market and cannot be changed afterwards — it decides which Amazon site is searched and which competitors exist at all.

Available marketplaces

North America — United States, Canada, Mexico Europe — Germany, United Kingdom, France, Spain, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Sweden Asia-Pacific — Australia

Currency and language

Prices are shown in the currency of the marketplace and formatted the way that marketplace formats them. A product on amazon.com is priced in dollars, one on amazon.co.uk in pounds. Prices from different marketplaces are never converted or mixed, because a converted price is a price at yesterday's exchange rate, not the price a shopper saw.

Keywords are entered in the language shoppers actually search in. That means the same product on amazon.de and amazon.com needs two different keyword sets, not a translation of one.

Choosing which one to track first

If you sell on several marketplaces, start with the one where the competition is decided rather than the one with the highest revenue. The two are often the same, but not always: a marketplace where you hold a comfortable lead teaches you less per day than one where three sellers are trading places above you.

You can add the others at any time; each uses one market from your plan.
