What gets detected
Ranking movement, competitors entering or leaving, badges, promotions, listing changes, rating and stock shifts — anything a competitor could do that changes your position.
Signals cover the things that happen in a market without anyone telling you. They fall into a few families.
Your own standing
- Score and visibility movement — your JustRanks Score or visibility shifted meaningfully.
- Coverage movement — you are ranking on noticeably more or fewer of your keywords. The severe case is a listing disappearing from the results entirely, which is flagged as urgent.
- Position jumps — a sharp move up or down in the field.
The competitive field
- New or returning competitors — a product that was not in your market before, or one that had disappeared and came back.
- Market trend — the field as a whole moving, which is context for your own movement. A drop while everyone drops is a different story from a drop while everyone else holds.
What competitors are doing
- Badges — Bestseller or Amazon's Choice gained or lost.
- Promotions — coupons, deals and other promotional activity starting or ending.
- Sponsored activity — a change in how hard someone is advertising on your keywords.
- Buy Box seller changes — who is actually selling a listing.
Listing and product changes
- Listing content — title, images, bullets or A+ content rewritten.
- Variant structure — variants added to or removed from a family.
- Ratings — a meaningful move in a product's rating.
- Best Sellers Rank — sharp rank movement or a category change.
- Category shifts and delivery time changes.
- Persistent out-of-stock — a competitor unavailable long enough to matter.
What is not a signal
Anything that needs your judgement rather than a threshold. Signals report what changed; they do not recommend what to do about it, and they do not predict.
